2022 Tar Wars Poster Content Winner

Students were invited to create posters based on the lessons they learned and submit them through an online form for the Foundation Board of Directors to judge. The top scoring poster was created by Willow at Rochester Intermediate School, just east of Springfield.  The school has incorporated Tar Wars into their 5th grade  science program since 2011 and several state poster contest winners have come from that school.  Thanks to a program through the Outdoor Advertising Association of Illinois, Willow’s poster is now on a billboard on Stevenson Drive in Springfield that will be displayed for 30 days, through at least mid-September.  IAFP caught up with Willow and her parents Courtney and William for a photo opportunity on August 24, where the family could not hide the pride they had for Willow’s message and the opportunity to share it widely.   Willow also received a $100 gift card from the Family Health Foundation of Illinois.
