At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

• Discuss health disparities experienced by transgender & genderqueer patients
• Utilize gender neutral language during clinical encounters, and suggest changes to increase inclusion of gender diverse individuals within the clinical environment.
• Summarize various aspects of gender transition (social, legal, medical, and surgical) as well as guidelines for gender-affirming medical therapy
• Consider factors unique to gender diverse patients regarding family planning, contraception, and preventative care.
• Identify patients who would benefit from pre-exposure prophylaxis and review the process for treatment initiation.
