The University of Illinois at Chicago Family Medicine Residency is an 8-8-8 program with a >20 year history of training full-spectrum physicians in an inner city setting. Community grounded in an academic setting, UIC FMR trains family physician activists who approach patient care through the lens of biopsychosocial medicine. Evidence-based vulnerable populations care,  social determinants of health, women's health, substance use disorders, HIV care, and inpatient medicine fundamental components of UIC FMR's training mission.
