Governance

Effective in 2017, the IAFP no longer operates with an All-Member Assembly.  Members have opportunities year round to provide input to the Academy Board of Directors in advance of their scheduled board meetings.  Now it is time for members to engage on a policy making level. Learn more here.

Board of Directors

The IAFP board of directors acts on behalf of the Academy in between annual meetings.  Each year an online election is held to determine the IAFP officers and directors.  Active and Life members are eligible to vote in the online elections.  The IAFP Leadership Development Task Force meets in the summer evaluates and qualifies all candidates for IAFP elections.  IAFP online elections are open for 30 days and close approximately one month before the All-Member Assembly.  Newly elected board members are installed at the All-Member Assembly and begin their terms immediately thereafter The Chair of the Board is the immediate past president.
