Narrative Medicine Workshop
In this 90-minute workshop, participants will be introduced to the practice of Narrative Medicine, Narrative Competence and how this practice promotes greater self-awareness, can help with emotional regulation, help us process grief and ultimately, further enhance the patient-healthcare provider connection.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Sonia Oyola has been a Family Medicine Physician for over 15 years. Since earning her MD at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completing her residency at Cook County’s Family Medicine Residency, she has served the west and south-side of Chicago’s most underserved communities. In 2013, her completion of an Integrative Medicine fellowship through the University of Arizona solidified her love of Mind-Body Medicine practices such as mindfulness meditation and breath-work to relieve pain, stress and suffering. Dr. Oyola. teaches yoga and loves to sing.
