Wednesday, October 07, 2020, 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM CDT
Category: Webinar

Unfortunately, opioid overdoses are greater in 2020 than 2019.  More family physicians are getting waivers to prescribe buprenorphine to patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).  However, there are still Medication Assisted Treatment/Recovery (MAT/R) deserts in Illinois.  Danielle Kirby, director of the Illinois Division on Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR), formerly DASA, will present on where the deserts are in Illinois and what programs and projects SUPR is supporting to help increase the capacity of our health system to care for persons seeking assistance with their OUD.
After participating, learners will be able to
•    Identify if they are in an MAT/R deserts are in Illinois
•    Plan how to connect with Illinois Division of Substance Use, Prevention and Recovery to receive assistance to increase the capacity of their practice and/or health care system to care for persons seeking assistance with their OUD
