PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Health care professionals need accurate and current information on the existing strategies to treat hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia (HABP)
and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP). The present-day epidemiology and changing patterns of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gramnegative
pathogens further challenge the recognition of high-risk patient populations with pneumonia. Several new antimicrobial agents have recently
been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of HABP and VABP in adult patients. This program will discuss the
latest treatment strategies and novel therapies available for the management of HABP and VABP caused by MDR Gram-negative pathogens.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Pharmacists, physicians, and other health care professionals who care for patients with infectious diseases.
