Learning Objectives : 1. Diagnose depression, assess the level of severity, and monitor the response to treatment. 2. Identify treatment phases, goals, and durations. 3. Develop a patient-specific plan of treatment. 4. Provide effective care in the acute phase of pharmacotherapy. 5.Code visits correctly for reimbursement.
Course Description: 38 yr old married white woman, has 3 children, works full-time in the office at her church. Has good relationship with husband, he works full-time on night shift & is very supportive. They have a good sexual relationship & have intercourse about twice weekly. 2 previous episodes of depression (At age 18, when her father died & at age 32, when she had a miscarriage), each episode lasted about 6 months. No depressive symptoms between episodes. No hypothyroidism or other comorbid illnesses
