2007 Spring Into Action Meeting The
elections are over. Some
legislators are saying their farewells as some new faces are moving in. By
March the legislature will be in high gear and those newly elected
lawmakers will be able to navigate the Capitol without a map!
Join IAFP for the Spring
into Action
meeting and let us show you the ropes of state government! Then
we’ll set you up to meet with your state senator and representative to
talk about the issues that affect you and your patients. Our
CME accredited workshop and legislative visit will provide you with up to
date information on state issues and provide you with the resources to
stay plugged in with family medicine issues throughout session and year
round. The
IAFP government relations committee and executive leadership will shape
the agenda, the topics and the speakers for the CME.
Subjects such as the need to recruit and train more primary care
physicians and a statewide clean indoor air act should be on the
legislative agenda in 2007. All
our efforts to help pass the Health Care Justice Act come to fruition this
year as the General Assembly
considers
actual legislation to implement universal access to care. By
bringing family physicians to the Capitol for proactive meetings on a
variety of health topics, IAFP demonstrates that we are team players
dedicated to improving health care for all of Click here for the registration form If
