- Managing Substance Abuse Disorders in Primary Care: A
Quality Improvement program will cover the prevalence of substance
dependence and abuse, the mental health problems associated with
substance-use disorders, and the primary care physicians role in alcohol-use
disorders and drug addiction. The program will also focus on managing
patients in the primary care setting who have an alcohol-use disorder or who
are at-risk for alcohol dependence and abuse. Drug addiction and screening
and treatment for drug use disorders will also be reviewed. The program also
illustrates how to do a quality improvement program on substance abuse

- Managing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in the
Family Care Setting: A Quality Improvement program will help
participants facilitate planning for individualized patient support,
coordinate COPD care in your office, encourage patients to become more
involved in COPD prevention, incorporate guideline-based treatment, promote
the use of community programs that support COPD patients and increase COPD
